enthusiasts and planted tank collectors,

unique leaf shape, and beautiful colouration
that elevates any planted tank layout
to a truly impressive display.
What is Rotala Nanjenshan Aquarium Plant?
Rotala Sp. Nanjenshan originates from
Taiwan where it was first collected near
Nanjeng Mountain — giving it its
distinctive common name. It is a relatively
rare species in the aquarium hobby and
is distinctly different in appearance
from the more common Rotala Rotundifolia
— producing narrower more elongated
leaves with a different growth habit
and distinctive pink-red colouration
that makes it immediately recognisable.
In the aquarium this rotala nanjenshan
aquarium plant grows as an upright stem
plant reaching 20 to 35 centimetres in
height. Its narrow elongated leaves and
flowing growth habit give it a more
delicate and refined appearance compared
to broader-leafed Rotala varieties that
are more commonly available.
